Look, we get it. You're standing in the drugstore aisle, you see a box that says "Rich Mahogany Brown," the model on the front looks amazing, and it's $7.99. How bad could it be?
Pretty bad, as it turns out.
What the box doesn't tell you is how that dye reacts with previously processed hair, highlights, or certain natural undertones. The result? An unexpected shade of copper orange, a green tint that nobody asked for, or a flat, muddy black that takes months to correct.
Color correction is one of our favorite services — it's genuinely satisfying to transform — but it can take 4 to 6 hours and costs significantly more than that $7.99 box. The "budget option" has a funny way of becoming the expensive option.
We all have that friend. She's seen every hair tutorial on TikTok and Instagram Reels. She's confident. She has kitchen scissors. She insists it'll look "just like the reference photo."
Maybe it does. Sometimes it doesn't.
We're not here to cancel DIY culture — creativity is great. But hair has a structure, a natural fall, layers that interact with each other. When things go sideways (literally), we're here. No judgment. Just solutions.
A full balayage, haircut, blowout, and deep conditioning treatment for $35? At a place you found through a Groupon that expired two years ago?
We know the cost of living is real and budgets matter. But in the beauty industry, rock-bottom prices almost always mean rushed appointments, low-quality products, or technicians still learning on your hair.
What you save upfront, you often spend double trying to repair. We've seen it hundreds of times. We're not judging — we're just saying: your hair is with you every single day. It's worth investing in.
This one is a classic on both sides of the border.
Twelve months of skipping trims, washing with whatever two-in-one was on sale, ignoring that split ends situation... and then the text arrives the morning of a major event: "Hey, any chance you have an opening today? I need to look amazing by 4pm."
We love a challenge. We genuinely do. But the best results — the ones that make you feel truly like yourself — come from consistency, not crisis mode. A regular routine with us will always outperform a last-minute miracle.
Your look isn't something you improvise. Not because appearances are everything, but because how you feel about yourself matters — and when your hair looks good, you know it. You walk differently. You show up differently.
At Aldo's, we've spent over a decade building real relationships with our clients. We're not the cheapest option out there, and we're not trying to be. We're the option that does it right — with the right products, the right technique, and a genuine investment in how you leave our chair.
Try the shortcuts if you want. No hard feelings, truly.
But when you're ready to do this properly — or when the box dye situation needs rescuing — you know where to find us.
